Data Platform Product Development

The Securities Services Data Platform team is responsible for formulating and implementing the Data Strategy for the Securities Services business. We set strategic direction, identify and govern Data best practice, manage end-to-end data delivery across asset classes from Systems of Record through to consumers and own the presentation of our data across multiple distribution channels. The Data Platform team sits within the Product Development organization as part of the broader Extended Enterprise.

The Role

This Associate role is for a business associate who is highly data literate and a strong change leader. The role offers the opportunity to work on one of the most critical strategic pillars of the Securities Services business strategy, supporting the creation of the integrated Data Platform component of the Securities Services architecture. Data is increasingly viewed within Securities Services as a key business asset and is an area of growth and investment for Production Development, both in skills and in funding.

Key Responsibilities:

§ Manage the Data Platform delivery for the functional onboardings in line with the Data priorities

§ Establish, define and document the business context for upstream providers and downstream consumers of data, in terms of business objectives

§ Prioritise and schedule work, understand / evaluate the relative importance of different pieces of work, manage dependencies across streams, and co-ordinate the Data Platform deliveries in the overall functional on-boarding

§ Own and maintain Data team artefacts – Confluence, RAID log, actions, plan and milestones, business requirements documentation

§ Collaborate with key stakeholder groups – Data Publishers, Data modellers, consumers, technology, operations, PMO teams

§ Identify and implement process improvements

§ Manage effective working group meetings across Product, Operations and Technology to deliver the data strategy

§ Deliver against project objectives – programme definition, planning and execution – and also needs to hold others to account for their components of delivery.

The successful candidate will have the following experience/characteristics:

§ Strong track record of business delivery within Data or Financial Services; basic project management delivery skills and disciplines

§ Broad business understanding, with ability to capture end-to-end business flow and progressively deepen subject matter expertise, identifying impact and dependencies up and down stream

§ Excellent written and oral communication, clarity of thought and the ability to express oneself clearly

§ Problem solving skills, with the ability to see the big picture across lines of business, as well as being able to step in to understand the detail to help resolve issues as and when required

§ Self-motivated, quick learner, being the focal point of a virtual project team, comfortable with responsibility

§ Proven good judgment , particularly on prioritizing your own and others’ workloads – including managing multiple deliveries simultaneously

§ Drive and determination – leading, influencing and driving programme contributors to meet overall project objectives

§ Strong analytical / quantitative skills, using programs such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau

§ Being able to build relationships across teams

§ Ability to multi-task, effectively prioritise workloads, and manage multiple streams of work concurrently

§ Experience with system, process or data design, Target Operating Models
