The Securities Services Client Technology team strives to deliver industry-leading applications and API’s to our clients in an efficient and cost-effective way. To achieve that, our ability to develop, test and deploy software relies on automation of these processes so they are consistent, repeatable and efficient, maximizing development productivity. As the head of Platform Engineering & DevOps, you will be responsible for defining the infrastructure engineering and DevOps strategy and lead the team to design, develop and manage that platform in support of our client-facing applications & API’s. In your role, you will be required to partner with engineering teams across the organization including our Global Technology Infrastructure, Cyber-Security an IT Risk teams to design & implement solutions that meet Department technical standards while enhancing developer productivity and delivering a resilient and stable infrastructure for our clients. In this role, you will also lead the Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) program for Securities Services, helping define and develop the next-generation of infrastructure automation and provisioning for the organization.
Define & implement the engineering and DevOps strategy for Client Technology, aligning with standards defined by the Global Technology organization.
Partner with our cloud, networking and cyber-security teams to modernize our client-facing platform and related build and deployment practices.
Influence architecture & design decisions with the central Global Technology organization, representing the needs of the Securities Services development community.
Drive development efficiency through automation. Establish metrics to accurately measure and track developer productivity and areas for improvement.
Achieve full observability of our infrastructure, encompassing transaction tracing, monitoring, alerting, metrics, events, and logs.
Ensure infrastructure and deployment consistency across our client-facing web and API channels.
Define and implement our testing automation strategy, eliminating the need for manual developer and QA testing. Measure and track code coverage across development activities.
Partner with business stakeholders to standardize our client usage and performance metrics platform and related reporting.
Promote the Infrastructure-as-Code strategy within Securities Services. Provide working demonstrations of the standard blueprints and assist teams with adoption. Report progress to senior management and key stakeholders.
15+ years object-oriented programming experience (Java, C#, Python, etc)
Experience implementing REST and/or GraphQL-based web services at scale.
Experience developing, operating and maintaining distributed Production systems.
Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation and provisioning using cloud-based technology (i.e. AWS, Azure, OpenShift).
Relevant experience with infrastructure-as-code platforms (AWS CloudFormation or similar)
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure tooling in an enterprise setting (i.e. Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Ansible).
Experience recruiting and leading a global development team and related project initiatives.
Familiarity with infrastructure management, operations lifecycle concepts and related ecosystem.
