The Securities Services Extended Enterprise Product Development Team is responsible for defining the product roadmap and managing execution and delivery of Enterprise Data Management, an initiative to build a strategic offering for asset managers and asset owners to manage, transform, aggregate, normalize and store data sets to support their business. This position is responsible for leading the global Enterprise Data Management Product Development team, which comprises people management of regional Enterprise Data Management leads across the US and India and an extended organization of 5+ people globally. In addition, this position is responsible for the following functions: thought leadership and idea generation of solutions to address functional pain points in data management for asset managers and asset owners; conception and development of Extended Enterprise – Enterprise Data Management products, comprised of end-to-end program delivery including senior governance, tracking, requirements, testing, deployment, and implementation; scaling of Extended Enterprise – Enterprise Data Management products to the global client base in partnership with client-facing organizations; extensive stakeholder management of internal teams across front, middle and back office and external stakeholders such as Securities Services clients and vendors; strong written and oral communication skills to concisely and accurately summarize high stakes meetings for senior management; highly effective influencing skills to achieve desired outcomes for the organization; comfort in presenting to internal senior audiences in steering committees and external audiences at industry events and conferences; partner closely with Legal and Compliance colleagues to ensure that products and services are delivered in accordance with the standards of the firm. This person should be comfortable with dynamically reprioritizing their day-to-day book of work to manage urgent and important deliverables at the direction of senior management. Additionally, this person should be adept at managing issues and troubleshooting given the nature of developing a new product offering from scratch.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development ED global lead for the Enterprise Data Management team with focus on people management, product development, client implementations and end-to-end program management
Lead a team of regional leads and diverse individuals with unique skill sets to build their individual books of work, set objectives and provide frequent feedback for career growth. Includes a global team of about 5 people across New York and Bangalore
Partner across the larger Product Development organization to interlock functional delivery and ensure successful deployment of strategic solutions for the benefit of Securities Services clients
Leadership: Exhibit leadership across separate business and functional groups to drive progress, ensure coordination and build coherence
Apply critical thinking to understand requirements and pain points; identify, evaluate and propose creative solutions to complex, multi-layered problems
Operational readiness: Understand current state and future state operating models and partner with operations colleagues to ensure support for Extended Enterprise – Enterprise Data Management products and solutions
Enthusiasm & Influence: Proven ability to drive and influence change with clients, vendors and internal teams to improve efficiency and reduce cost
Organization & Planning: Proven ability to track and monitor multiple deliverables and give clarity and direction to internal and external stakeholders
Controls: Ensure appropriate adherence to Risk and Control policy and put appropriate risk mitigation in place
Legal, Regulatory and Compliance: Ensure appropriate coordination with Legal, Regulatory and Compliance partners to support Extended Enterprise – Enterprise Data Management initiatives in adherence to the standards set forth by the firm
Client/Vendor Engagement: Proven experience of interacting directly with external clients and vendors
Communication Skills: Ability to adapt communication style according to audience and occasion. Ability to influence and manage senior stakeholders both internal and external to the firm
Proven verbal and written skills for updates as required to senior management including overall governance (milestone tracking and reporting, monthly and quarterly achievements, steering committees) and call reports
Act as a subject matter expert to internal and external stakeholders
Product Inquiries: Apply critical thinking to recommend Extended Enterprise – Enterprise Data Management products and solutions to clients based on functional pain points and areas of interest
Diligent Tracking and Governance of short, medium and long term programs with ability to dynamically reprioritize as required by the business
Required Qualifications and Characteristics:
Minimum 12 years experience in Banking or Financial Services with client implementations and end-to-end program management experience
Excellent written and oral communication, clarity of thought and the ability to express oneself clearly both to internal and external stakeholders
Strong influencing skills, including the ability to clearly articulate benefits of Extended Enterprise products to Securities Services clients by understanding their pain points and operational inefficiencies and detailing how our solutions can address their business needs
Ability to analyze complex, multi-layered business problems to develop data-driven solutions
Comfort in deep diving into data sets and conducting exploratory analysis
Experience in data analysis, cleansing, modeling and visualization
Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills
Technical experience working with data using SQL, SAS, R, Python or similar
Interest in big data technologies, data governance and data analytics
Program or project certification, or equivalent work experience
Broad-based business knowledge across the full Securities Services suite including custody and fund services
Experience and knowledge of industry standards to drive strategic vision for Extended Enterprise
Subject Matter Expertise: must have experience in large programs delivering change for clients in a complex operational environment
Experience with system and process design, target operating models, including use of Visio
Drive and determination: leading, influencing and driving multiple programs to meet overall Extended Enterprise project objectives
A problem solver with the ability to see the big picture across lines of business, as well as being able to step in to understand the detail for purpose of resolving issues as and when required
Strong track record of project delivery and good project discipline
Strong analytical, quantitative and qualitative skills; exceptional Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint/SharePoint Designer skills
Proven good judgment, particularly with prioritizing your own workload – including managing multiple deliveries simultaneously
Self-motivated, quick learner, comfortable with responsibility
Strong at building relationships across teams
